Abstract: | In the Czech Republic, hospital costs are close to half of the total health care costs. This ratio is quite high compared to other V4 countries. It is therefore essential to concern ourselves with whether these expenses are spent effectively. Regarding the fact that in recent years hospitals continue to unite into various holdings, it is desirable to look into whether this form of horizontal integration leads to the desired effect, that is, to lowering expenses, raising effectiveness and to higher quality health care. This article is focussed on the effectiveness of two chosen holdings and it will analyse 6 indicators before and after integration. © 2016, North Atlantic University Union NAUN.
