dc.description.abstract As tourism is one of the fastest growing industries today. Thus, sustainable tourism development become more and more important to a destination which make it to be more competitive and ideal Tourism can also be one of the most effective drivers for the development of regional economies. Phu Quoc - an island district of Kien Giang Province of Vietnam, with great potentials not only for the economic development but also for tourism development, face with many challenges and drawbacks. A holistic study is required to be done to help Phu Quoc become an ideal destination in the sustainable member. This is to provide a scientific study through proposing research questions to develop and examine a conceptual framework for sustainable tourism development which addressing the integration of social, economic, and ecological elements. The findings are useful for the island or other destinations with similar contexts in practice and fill a notable gap in the literature of sustainable tourism development for the island in theory. The proposed methodology used in this study is the triangulation method. en
