dc.description.abstract This paper focuses on the relationship of Emotional Intelligence (EI) construct with corporate leadership. Leadership has become a sine qua non for corporate success. The EI construct indicates direct and indirect relationships with leadership theories and empirical evidences. Being a relatively new construct EI has its own grey areas, which are yet to be answered explicitly. Study has identified the importance of quantifying emotional competencies, especially related to leadership in the world of work. Measuring of EI of corporate managers serves to assess EI's contribution to corporate leadership. The intricacies of the EI construct and the absence of a fool proof EI measurement instrument pose significant challenges to this initiative. en
