Benchmarking of production performance of plastics and rubber producers in Zlin region

Abstract

The paper informs about the research at the Department of Industrial Engineering and Information Systems of Faculty Management and Economics Tomas Bata University in Zlín. Research is focused on manufacturing and logistics performance of plastics and rubber manufacturers in the Zlín Region. The area has the largest concentration of these fields in the Czech Republic. The characteristics of included organizations from the perspectives of legal form, number of employees, turnover, integration in supply networks (automotive, electronics, furniture, construction, food) and the resulting plastics cluster are evaluated in the paper. It carries out export of selected economic indicators, manufacturing and logistics performance of its financial statements in the database Albertina CZ Gold Edition and checks their explanatory power and accuracy of the annual reports organizations. The present results performance are comparing in conclusion with the relative benchmarking metrics averages of cluster organizations and organizations of surveyed fields in Zlín Region. © 2016 Taylor & Francis Group, London.
