dc.description.abstract This text is dealing with ethics codes position in the public service. With the public service reform the question about public service effectiveness is going to the fore and the concept of ethics during providing public services is following. On the example of cities will be presented, how they approach the codes of ethics, how they perceive their significance during execution of their work. There is a considerable group of offices, which does not have ethics code for employees and even does not think about its establishment, and at the same time this group regards them as a redundant document. en
