From information economy towards knowledge economy

Abstract

In Organizations as in everything in economy, all the decissions are made at the level of individuals, who are interacting with the environment and different variables of it, generating experiences or knowledge which can be documented and used by more agents to generate more knowledge. This document intends to show the evolution of information inside the global economy and its differentiation with knowledge passing through the processes of knowledge creation and tranferring; introducing the reader to the definitions of knowledge, knowledge management(KM) and common practices inside a company.
