Antropologie umírání a smrti

Abstract

Problematikou umírání a smrti se můžeme zabývat z různých uhlů pohledu, ať již filozofického, medicínského, sociologického, psychologického, demografického, antropologického či archeologického. Cílem této kapitoly je postihnout téma, které se dotýká každého z nás, v širším pojetí, seznámit čtenáře s problematikou smrti a umírání v euroamerické kultuře, též sebevražedným chováním a kompenzací obého v naší společnosti. V textu autoři reflektují historický pohled na umírání a smrt a uvádí tři příklady interpretace pohřebního ritu z hlediska archeologické antropologie: „Muž s výbavou bojovníka na pohřebišti z 9. století v Morkůvkách“, „Děti na pohřebišti z 9. století v Divákách“ a „Žena pohřbená ve skrčené poloze na pohřebišti v Divákách“. Text přináší také nejnovější empirické údaje a kritický pohled na umírání a smrt v České republice v 21. století. Smrtí se nezabýváme pouze z historicko-sociologického hlediska, ale přibližujeme i sociálně-psychologické konotace smrti a umírání. Na smrt pohlížíme též jako na zásadní problém pro pozůstalé.

In interdisciplinary context we explore also the anthropology of dying and death. The goal of this chapter is to comprehensively cover the subject that concerns each of us, and to familiarize the reader with the concept of dying and death in Euro-American culture, with suicidal behavior of individuals, and with compensation of both these phenomena in our society. In our text we reflect upon the historical perspective of dying and death, and we show three examples of interpretation of mortuary rites from the perspective of archeological anthropology. This chapter also presents the most recent empirical data and critical view of dying and death in the Czech Republic in 21 st century. We are concerned with dying and death not only from history-sociological point of view. We also draw upon socio-psychological connotations that are connected with the end of human life. We also perceive the death of human being as the fundamental problem for the mourners.
