dc.description.abstract The advantages of one-dimensional mathematical simulations of the process of raw hide desalination are presented. A general three-dimensional model is to be considered in our following contribution. Technological data, i.e. transport parameter and effective diffusion coefficient of salt in cured hide, were determined experimentally. A possible occurrence of a concentration shock is modelled, and a method of its prevention is proposed to reduce losses in the hide substance. en
