dc.description.abstract Global discussion has been taking place since 2010, upon the initiative of 3000 specialists who held a meeting to discuss social work issues around the world. The discussions climaxed on 15.3.2012 at the International Social Work Day at the United Nations in New York, where the representatives participating in the discussions presented their outputs. Jaroslav Balvín and Lenka Vavreková contributed their text to the discussion thematically focused on fieldwork and community work in areas inhabited by Romani communities in Slovakia. These efforts are particularly important in places with the greatest concentration of the Roma in Slovakia, namely, in Slovakia’s eastern regions. en
