dc.description.abstract Coating of polystyrene sheets with SiO x layer was performed by employing an atmospheric pressure plasma device. Mixtures of hexamethyldisiloxane with different compositions of carrier gas based on synthetic air, oxygen, and/or nitrogen were utilized for coating deposition. The chemical composition and morphology of the deposited layers were characterized by free surface energy evaluation, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy, and UV-vis spectrophotometry. en
