dc.description.abstract The main purpose of this article is the presentation of software validation for a calculation of heat transfer in buildings. The program for numerical solving of partial differential equations COMSOL Multiphysics is validated by the analytical test presented by ASHRAE organization in 1052-RC Toolkit. Results from nine tests were calculated in COMSOL Multiphysics and consequently compared to the analytical solution as well as to the outputs from similar validation of EnergyPlus simulation software. The results show some dissimilarity between numerically calculated values and analytical tests' results. The main differences are caused by the definition of boundary conditions which were not possible to model in COMSOL Multiphysics directly. en
