dc.description.abstract In this study, an apparatus and a testing method for photocatalytic activity of composite materials based on TiO2 and ZnO were developed. Anatase phase of titanium dioxide in form of nanopowder dispersed in liquid medium was used as a standard photocatalyst; dyes Acid Orange 7 and Methylene blue served as a model compounds. A focused UV lamp was used as the source of light at the wavelength 365 nm. Photocatalytic activity of the TiO2 was determined by measuring changes of absorbance and total content of organic carbon in tested dyes solutions. en
