dc.description.abstract The current era is characterized by rapid developing in all areas of society, but the most rapid expansion is in the field of science, knowledge, and technology. Galloping accessibility of the novel materials and technologies creates requirements of complex evaluation of their deployment to obtain economic and ecological sustainability. The authors of the paper present a proposal for a methodology enabling an effective decision-making process when choosing material and technological processes suitable for the manufacturing of products. This methodology was developed to enable the efficient evaluation of a wide range of materials, manufacturing technologies, including existing additive and hybrid and with focus on future and emerging technologies, too. The evaluation focuses on sustainability approach to minimize negative social and environmental impact while ensuring the required level of safety and profitability. en

utb.fulltext.sponsorship The developed version of the information system was built, maintained, and run by the physical subsidy of the Laboratory for automation, robotization and rapid prototyping of the Department of Production Engineering of Tomas Bata University in Zlin. This contribution research activity was prepared with the main financial support of the Ministry of Education, Science, Research, and Sport of the Slovak Republic grants by its Slovak Research and Development Agency: SKCN-21-0046 “Research on femtosecond laser ultrasonic and abrasive grains hybrid processing micro structural surfaces of hard brittle materials” and APVV-19-0550 “Investigation of cellular material properties”. Also, funding the Cultural and Educational Grant Agency of the Ministry under KEGA 032TUKE-4/2022 “Research on the implementation of innovative elements to increase the complexity and effectiveness of education in the field of interdisciplinary skills in the field of study 36 Mechanical Engineering” was used for partial research activities.
