Process owner and his competencies

Abstract

While many organizations adapt process orientation, several components must be implemented. Besides of process design and model, performance measurement, continuous improvement or strategic alignment, it is process ownership pillar which must be established. Process owner is a cross-functional role with responsibility for an end-to-end process. Assignment of process owners is real challenge for many reasons. Therefore, the aim of this contribution is to investigate these challenges especially in business process management implementation context and process owner's competencies and knowledge. An overview of process owners 'competence model is presented as well as a case study of companies with BPM program of various maturity.
