Abstract: | Public procurement is currently an everyday reality, and legislation addresses this issue. Public contracts are financed from public funds, which pertain to public finances, objects, property rights, and other assets belonging to the state, or respectively another legal entity specified more closely by law. Ideally, a situation should be achieved where utilizing public funds in connection with financing public procurement is transparent, effective and in accordance with the law. The aim of this paper is to describe current legislation governing public procurement in the Czech Republic, focusing on the system of control that is currently in place under the applicable Act. Assessment is made as to whether such legislation is sufficient to enable the required, proclaimed transparency, and efficiency in public procurement. |
