dc.description.abstract Companies are encouraged to make changes and improve their business processes to achieve performance and competitiveness. For these purposes, industrial engineering methods can be used in business practice. The main aim of this paper is to check and prove the applicability and utility of Value Stream Mapping as a supporting industrial engineering tool for increasing business process performance. The results shows, that Value Stream Mapping is an appropriate tool to support improvement projects in manufacturing companies. Because of its utilization, companies can achieve a higher performance of business processes and thus to increase competitiveness of the company. en
