dc.description.abstract The issues of professionalization of teaching are considered to be the exclusive domain of education, because the main activity of teachers is situated in the realm of education. The role of a kindergarten teacher varies not only at school or in a classroom, but also in the whole society. New roles require new professional knowledge, professional competencies and extension activities. Quality of work of preschools teacher assumes a high degree of professionalism and accountability, puts high demands on the quality of teachers at both personal and professional facet. Demands on the profession of preschools teachers are increasing, so the profession is becoming more difficult and challenging. The case study presents the results of research whose aim was to analyze the career progression of preschools teachers. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, which were conducted with teachers and principals of preschools, teachers and primary school headmasters. The study results depict the different stages of the teaching profession, which emerged from the data. en
