dc.description.abstract Focus of this paper is to investigate the communication barriers in multinational corporations and to discuss the ways of eliminating them. Empirical findings have emphasized the role of organizational communication for the vitality of business effectiveness. Employees form the basic building blocks of organizations and by improving employee communications organizations can achieve improved performances. The purpose of this paper is to support multinational corporations by removing obstacles in communication and misunderstanding arising from the extensiveness of these companies. The primary research question was focused on the factors, which constitute of main communication barriers. Specific objectives focused on the threat for Czech employees and managers in MNC's, and ways of overcoming those communication barriers. Research was conducted in multinational companies that employ Czech employees and managers. Data collection derives from the systematic literature review, questionnaires and guided interviews. The findings have been compared by the replies of individual respondents and confronted in connection with the theoretical knowledge the problem at issue. Results have been interpreted on an exploratory basis. A set of principles on enhancing the organizational communications have been designed, based on the major findings. en
