dc.description.abstract The aim of this article is to define a marketing information system from the perspective of processing marketing information with an emphasis on cluster analysis. The introductory part contains a definition of the marketing information system and the position of the processing and analysing of data in this system. What follows is a methodical view of stepwise regression analysis and theoretical description of this concept, the purpose of which is to find to find a subset of k regressors in a suitable linear regression model, thus the determination of statistically significant regressors that explain the most of the variability in dependent variable. The concluding, practical part will contain practical application of this analysis to specific data using Matlab 2011b program environment. en
