Vliv účastníků triády na konkurenceschopnost regionů: Zlínský region v evropském prostoru

Abstract

The study focuses on competitiveness at a time when economic transformation and industrial restructuring have been completed. On the example of the Zlin Region which has since 2000 performed duties of a higher territorial self-governing unit, examines the tools to reach current competitiveness and the conditions for its maintenance at the time of completion of the EU budgetary policy after 2013. Nowadays, most economists agree that there is competitiveness, both at macro- and microeconomic level. Company competitiveness is a relatively cogent concept of competitiveness in microeconomic concept. The macroeconomic concept of competitiveness can not be fully applied to the regional level. The process of globalization leads to search for different organizational forms. These new forms can adequately adapt from tight organizational forms to global market environment such as small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) or clusters. The links between institutional sectors are emphasized by the Triple Helix model. The role of the triad results from the principle of cooperation and coordination of the three basic areas of social progress: education, business and politico-public. The evaluation of the success of the Zlin Region in competitive global investment flows according to the index inflows of foreign direct investment (inward FDI Performance Index - IPEI) shows the depletion of existing localization benefits resulting from lower production costs. It is acknowledged that the triad model based on the principle of cooperation and coordination of the three basic areas of social progress: education, business and politico-public is accountable for the current and future competitiveness of the region.
